Has 6 months passed already?

Wow! I've been to Taiwan twice since my last posting... in fact, that is where I am now. I will be going to Singapore and Hong Kong in a couple of days... it will be good to be back in my old stomping grounds again!

My condo is wonderful... my mom & Auntie Char visited me last month and helped me plant a patio garden. I think I will be taking a page from the movie "28 Days"... that is, to keep the garden alive for one year... maybe at that point, I will be ready for another relationship. Speaking of which, I still cry over Matt... ridiculous, huh!

It has been such a strange experience to lose a man I cared for deeply and every single friend we had in common (guess they weren't really friends), to be estranged from my son, to lose my best friend in Australia, and to lose my job within 6 months.

Fortunately, I have been supported by some old friends (Nick & Denise) and some new friends (Jim & Vanessa).... so what I lost in quantity has certainly been made up by quality. My job is great... I am in a place where my skills are respected and appreciated... not to mention that our company is in head to head competition with my old employer... life has a funny way of working out!

On another happy note, my pool game has improved! My 9-Ball team (appropriately named "Hair of the Dog") won 2nd place in APA's Summer Blast. Next weekend we will be playing in the City Championships... at stake is not only the prize money, but also a qualifying position to play in the National Championships in Vegas. Lately, if I am not working... I am playing pool!

My daughter, Jenny, is doing well... she is expecting her 2nd son in July. Unfortunately, her husband, Dan, has been stationed in Iraq since January. Hopefully, he will be able to come home when the baby arrives. She has a great attitude... amazing considering her situation... and did I mention that she was also attending community college as an honour student... I am very proud of her.
